Terms of service

These terms govern access to Palmus, an English-language editorial resource based in Jakarta. By reading the site, you agree to use it lawfully, respectfully and without treating general information as individualized medical advice. They apply to every page published under the Palmus name, including the articles, the glossary, the policy pages and the contact page, and to anyone who reads the site or writes to the editorial desk. The terms are intended for adults, and younger readers are encouraged to read with a parent or guardian.

  1. 1. Service scope

Palmus publishes articles, references and contact channels about sports physiology and training. Content is educational and may not fit every person. Access may change as pages are edited, retired or corrected. The service is free to read, and Palmus does not sell products, memberships or coaching through these pages. A guide on aerobic base building, for example, describes general principles and cannot account for your history, schedule or equipment. If a page is retired, we try to keep a short note explaining that it was removed or merged so that earlier links remain understandable. Palmus does not operate reader accounts, so reading the site does not require you to register or to hand over personal details. Where an illustrative table or estimate appears, the assumptions behind it are stated beside it so that you can see its limits. If a page is merged into another, the new page shows the date of the change and the title of the page it replaced.

    • (a) Articles and glossary entries are published for general education.
    • (b) Contact channels exist for editorial questions, corrections and accessibility reports.
    • (c) Optional tools, where offered, provide illustrative estimates and not assessments.
    • (d) No account, payment or registration is needed to read any page.
    • (e) Features may be added or withdrawn without notice, because no paid service depends on them.
  2. 2. Health boundary

Nothing on this site diagnoses, treats or prevents disease. Stop activity and obtain professional care for concerning symptoms. A qualified clinician should address personal history, medication and clearance. Chest discomfort, unusual breathlessness, dizziness or fainting during exercise are examples of symptoms that call for prompt professional attention rather than further reading. In Indonesia, the national emergency number is 112 and ambulance services can be reached on 119. Using Palmus does not replace a medical review, particularly for readers over 35 who are returning to vigorous activity after a long break. A reader who takes regular medication, has a diagnosed heart or circulatory condition or has recently been unwell should discuss any change in activity with a clinician before applying an idea from an article. The editorial desk cannot interpret test results, scans or device readings that a reader sends in, and such attachments are not reviewed. Reading about a symptom on this site should never delay a visit to a clinic or a call to emergency services.

    • (a) Symptoms that appear during activity are a reason to stop and seek care, not to look for a matching article.
    • (b) Palmus staff do not give personal opinions about symptoms by telephone, email or the contact form.
    • (c) Statements about research describe populations, not individuals.
  3. 3. Acceptable use

Do not interfere with security, scrape at a disruptive rate, impersonate another person or submit unlawful material. Contact forms are for genuine editorial communication and not emergency requests. Automated tools that send many requests in a short period may be slowed or blocked to protect other readers. Messages containing threats, harassment, malware or unsolicited commercial offers may be deleted without reply. We act in line with Indonesian rules on electronic information and transactions, and we may preserve a record of serious abuse where the law requires it. Security researchers who notice a weakness are asked to report it through the contact page and to avoid testing it further, so that it can be fixed without affecting other readers. Repeated misuse from the same network may lead to that network being blocked for a period, and the block is reviewed rather than left in place indefinitely.

    • (a) Do not attempt to access areas of the site or systems that are not public.
    • (b) Do not submit another person’s details without a legitimate reason.
    • (c) Do not use the contact form to send advertising or bulk messages.
    • (d) Do not copy pages in bulk to build a competing archive or a training dataset without written permission.
  4. 4. Intellectual property

Text, design and marks belong to Palmus or its licensors. You may read and share links for personal reference, but reproduction of substantial portions requires permission. Short quotations with clear attribution and a link back to the source page are generally welcome for commentary, teaching or news reporting. Photographs, diagrams and layouts may be owned by licensors and are not covered by any right to copy. Requests for permission can be sent through the contact page, and we aim to answer within ten business days. The rules follow Indonesia’s Law No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright. A request should name the page, the portion you wish to use, the purpose and the medium, because permission is given for a stated use and not in general. Teachers who want to discuss an article in a classroom or a coaching course may do so with attribution without asking, provided the article is not reproduced in full or sold on. The Palmus name and any logo may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation.

    • (a) Quoting a few sentences with a link to the page is normally acceptable.
    • (b) Copying a full article, diagram or table to another site is not acceptable without permission.
    • (c) Using the Palmus name to imply endorsement is not acceptable.
  5. 5. Accuracy

We work to maintain accurate material but cannot promise that every statement remains current or complete. Dates and corrections are shown where practical. Research on training and physiology changes, and an explainer that was reasonable in early 2026 may be refined later in the year. Each article shows the date of its last review so that you can judge how recent it is. If you notice an error, please report the page address and a short description, and an editor will review it and publish a dated correction where the change affects understanding. Numbers such as heart-rate ranges and training volumes are quoted from named sources and carry the limits stated by those sources. Where two reputable sources disagree, the article says so instead of choosing one without explanation. The editorial policy describes the review and correction steps in full.

    • (a) A review date shows when an editor last checked the page, not that every fact has been re-verified.
    • (b) Corrections that change meaning are dated at the foot of the page.
  6. 6. Third-party links

External links are provided for context and are not endorsements. Their privacy, security and availability are controlled by their operators. We link mainly to public institutions, peer-reviewed publications and professional bodies, but a link can change content after we have reviewed it. Before entering personal information on an external site, read its own terms and privacy notice. If a link is broken or no longer appropriate, tell us and we will update or remove it. Links open in the same browser window unless a page says otherwise. Palmus has no control over cookies or tracking set by a site you reach through a link, and the cookie policy covers only Palmus pages. Linking to a page does not mean that we agree with everything else published by its operator.

    • (a) Check the address bar after following a link to confirm which site you are on.
    • (b) Report links that lead to unexpected or unsafe content so that they can be removed promptly.
  7. 7. Contact submissions

You confirm that your message is yours to share and does not disclose another person’s confidential health information. We may retain correspondence under the privacy policy. Messages are normally kept for 24 months after the last exchange, and you may ask for earlier deletion through the contact page. Please keep descriptions of your own health to what is needed for the question, because we cannot give individual advice. We will not publish your message or your name without separate permission. After a valid submission the page shows a confirmation message, which is the only automatic response; a personal reply follows from the editorial desk. Messages that raise a correction, an accessibility barrier or a data request are routed to the person responsible for that area. If a message is sent on behalf of someone else, say so, because we may need that person’s confirmation before acting on a data request.

    • (a) Provide an accurate email address so that we can reply.
    • (b) Avoid attaching medical records or identity documents.
    • (c) Expect an acknowledgement within five business days.
    • (d) Telephone calls to +62 813 9587 4123 are taken Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 Western Indonesia Time.
  8. 8. Availability

We may perform maintenance or restrict access to protect the site. No service-level promise is made for uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance is usually carried out outside Indonesian business hours, and brief interruptions may occur during hosting updates. If a security concern arises we may restrict traffic from certain networks without prior notice. Because the site is informational, a short outage does not affect any paid service or obligation. We do not provide offline copies of pages, and readers who rely on a particular article are encouraged to keep their own notes and the source list. If a longer interruption occurs, a notice is placed on the home page once service is restored.

    • (a) Planned work is normally brief and carried out at night, Western Indonesia Time.
    • (b) Access from some regions or networks may be limited temporarily for security reasons.
  9. 9. Liability

To the extent permitted by Indonesian law, Palmus is not responsible for decisions made solely from general content or for indirect loss arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including obligations under consumer protection rules in Law No. 8 of 1999. A reader remains responsible for choosing an activity level that suits their circumstances and for seeking professional input where appropriate. If you believe the site has caused you a specific problem, write to us with the details so we can look into it fairly. Palmus is not responsible for the content, availability or practices of external sites or for how a device or browser displays a page. This limit applies to indirect or consequential loss, and it does not remove any right you have under mandatory law. A complaint should describe what happened, the page involved and the outcome you are seeking, so that it can be assessed on the facts.

    • (a) The limit does not affect rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
    • (b) The limit does not apply to harm caused by deliberate misconduct.
  10. 10. Law and updates

These terms are reviewed in Jakarta and updated on 5 October 2026. Indonesian law applies subject to mandatory consumer protections. We first try to resolve a dispute through direct discussion, and a written complaint is acknowledged within five business days and answered within 30 calendar days. If a dispute cannot be settled informally, the courts of South Jakarta are the usual venue, unless mandatory rules give you another option. Material changes to these terms will be dated at the top of the page, and the previous wording is kept on file for 36 months. Continued use of the site after a dated change means that you accept the updated terms, but you may stop reading at any time without penalty. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply. Written complaints can be sent to Palmus, Jl. Raya Cilandak KKO No.17, RT.1/RW.5, Ragunan, Ps. Minggu, Kota Jakarta Selatan, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 12560, Indonesia, or through the contact page.

    • (a) 1 July 2026: first consolidated edition of the terms.
    • (b) 17 August 2026: acceptable use and contact submission wording clarified.
    • (c) 5 October 2026: health boundary, liability and dispute steps described in more detail.
